Courez

about.

Courez is a runner focused experience designed to reduce injury and mental load by turning a single run input into a complete, balanced routine.

Instead of asking runners to plan every detail, Courez requires only basic information about the run, such as distance, pace, and timing. From that input, the system automatically generates pre and post run meals, pre and post run stretches, and optional strength, flexibility, or sprint work.

By centralizing these decisions, Courez helps runners train more safely and consistently without needing multiple apps or extensive planning.

challenge.

Many running injuries stem from imbalance rather than overexertion.

Runners often skip strength, flexibility, and recovery not because they are unmotivated, but because these steps require extra planning and decision making. Nutrition and warm up routines are frequently guessed or ignored altogether.

From a UX perspective, the key challenges were:

  • High injury risk caused by incomplete training routines

  • Decision fatigue before and after runs

  • Strength, flexibility, and sprints treated as optional add ons

  • Nutrition and recovery left disconnected from the run itself

The challenge was to design an experience where safer training decisions happen automatically.

user.

For most runners, a run begins long before they start moving and ends well after they stop.

Pre run decisions include what to eat, how to warm up, and whether to incorporate strength or speed work. Post run decisions involve stretching, recovery, and fueling. These choices are often rushed or skipped, increasing the risk of injury.

Courez was designed to support runners by collapsing this entire decision space into a single input. Once the run is defined, the system handles the rest.

research & exploration.

Interviews and journey mapping revealed a consistent pattern across runner types.

Runners want to train smarter and avoid injury, but planning feels overwhelming. Many rely on intuition or repeat the same routines regardless of distance, intensity, or fatigue.

Existing running apps emphasize tracking and performance, but rarely help runners decide what to do before or after a run.

This research highlighted an opportunity. By shifting effort from planning to execution, Courez could support safer habits without adding friction.

key insights.
  1. Injury risk increases when runners skip warm ups, strength, and recovery.

  2. Runners are more consistent when decisions are made for them.

  3. Nutrition and recovery are easier to follow when tied directly to a specific run.

  4. Optional strength, flexibility, and sprint work is more likely to be completed when it is clearly integrated.

These insights positioned Courez as a system that reduces injury by reducing decisions.

experience flow.

Courez is designed around a simple loop driven by a single input.

Run input
The runner enters basic information about their run.

Pre run support
Courez generates pre run meals and warm up stretches tailored to the run.

Optional additions
The runner can choose to incorporate strength, flexibility, or sprint work without manual planning.

During the run
The focus stays on movement with minimal interaction.

Post run support
The app delivers post run stretches, recovery guidance, and fueling suggestions.

This flow ensures that each run is supported as a complete experience rather than an isolated activity.

result.

Courez transforms a single run into a balanced training system.

The final experience:

  • Reduces injury risk through structured preparation and recovery

  • Removes planning friction from nutrition and training decisions

  • Encourages consistent strength and flexibility work

  • Helps runners build safer long term habits

By designing around simplicity and guidance, Courez shows how UX can proactively prevent injury rather than react to it.
