Pulse
about.
Pulse is a meditation object designed to be felt before it’s understood. I wanted to explore how subtle movement, vibration, and weight could guide someone into a calmer state without relying on screens or instructions.
This project was deeply form-driven. I studied how people hold objects, how micro-movements affect stillness, and how sound and vibration can influence emotion. Pulse became an exploration of rhythm and restraint, where every design decision had to earn its place. It reflects my interest in designing experiences that feel intuitive, physical, and quietly supportive.

challenge.
Meditation products often depend on screens, instructions, or rigid guidance that pull users out of the moment. Many feel performative or overly prescriptive, which can make meditation feel like another task to complete.
The challenge was creating a purely physical experience that communicates calm through form and sensation alone. I had to design something that guides users subtly, without telling them what to do, and still feels meaningful across different levels of familiarity with meditation.

result.
Pulse resulted in a set of physical forms that guide calm through weight, vibration, and rhythm rather than screens or instructions. The final design encourages users to slow their breathing and settle into stillness through subtle sensory cues.
This project became a study in restraint. By removing visual interfaces and overt guidance, Pulse highlights how physical interaction alone can shape emotional experiences. It represents my interest in designing products that feel quietly supportive and deeply human.
